Dear Engineering Students:
This website is created to assist current students enrolled at the subjects being handled by Engr. Reynaldo P. Ramos, PhD for the school year 2018-2019. All handouts, assignments, and other reading materials will be posted and available to the students. Hardcopies will be available during classes but it is the responsibility of the students to have her/his own copy. All students are required to provide their individual "notebooks" for each of the subject enrolled and all assignments and take home examinations will be handwritten on it. The notebook is one of the primary requirements in passing the subject taken. Each of the subject has its own link at the top portion of the website. Posting of messages should be in the link of the subject not in the "Updates" link. Welcome back to RSU! (Note: Read the messages below this message for the respective updates (handout and assignment) of the subjects enrolled).

To complement with the lectures, including hand-outs, continue to read our main reference textbook, Paler-Calmorin & Calmorin (2007), Chapters 2 and 3 which focus on Research Problem/Objectives and Review of Literature. Perform the exercises after the chapters indicated. There will be a quiz on TUESDAY, 31 JULY 2018 (CE 5TH YR) AND WEDS 01 AUGUST 2018 (4TH YR) to cover these chapters. Each group is required to submit the power point presentation file this week for assessment. Email the file at [email protected]. For the comments and suggestions of the Panel of Examiners should be addressed properly in preparing your final revised research proposal.
NON-SUBMISSION ON THE DATE SPECIFIED WILL MEAN WITHDRAWAL FROM THE CLASS. LATER SUBMISSION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. HANDOUT #3 on Environmental Laws and Regulations are now posted and ready for download. You can use this handout in preparing your Group Work #2 assignment on Nickelodeon Theme Park.
In addition, the next Individual Assignment #3 - Water/Hydrologic Cycle is due on 03 August 2018. Sketch or draw the cycle with proper label of the major processes or components on how water is distributed on earth. Use a 1/8 size illustration board and any medium for the drawing is acceptable. PLEASE IMPROVE THE ONE FOUND/PRESENTED IN THE TEXTBOOKS OR ONLINE SOURCES incorporating other sources into a better illustration that capture the essence of the water cycle in the source, supply, and circulation of water on earth. This is to move forward with your research projects after the oral presentation. After the comments, suggestions (change of topics) and recommendations from the Panel and Examiners as well as the inputs from group's adviser, submit the revised version of the research proposal on or before 06 August 2018, 5PM. The revised copy is endorsed (signed) by the adviser. NO EXTENSION! Strictly follow the guideline with APA formatting, and prioritize to review the theses at CET especially for those that have similar topics as suggested by the Members of the Panel.
The groups from the Civil Engineering Department will have the morning slot, while the groups from the Electrical Engineering Department will take the afternoon time. AGAIN, FOR THOSE GROUPS WHO DID NOT SUBMIT THEIR REVISED MANUSCRIPTS ON OR BEFORE FRIDAY, 20 JULY 2018 WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE THE ORAL DEFENSE!!! Just present the summary of Chapters 1 to 3, highlighting the rationale of your research, research objectives/research problems, synopsis of the literature review and the methodology. As a reminder, your second research proposal will be available in case your first proposal will not be approved by the Panel of Examiners. The contents of the Abstract Proposal is posted already. The list of the groups and research proposals will be posted very soon and it also indicate the sequence of presentation. In other words, the first group in the list will present first and then the next group on the list. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to post a message or email at: [email protected]. NOTE: For EE groups, final arrangement for the food and tokens for the Members of Examiners will be discussed on Monday morning. CIVIL ENGINEERING GROUP: 1. Congratulations! The winning group will receive additional points towards their group work grade. All the students presenters will also receive additional points for explaining their group work outputs in relation to the theme given. As explained during the assessment in the class of this first group work, there are things to be considered to make the collage effective and ensure that the information/message will be conveyed to the audience while looking at the tarpaulin. It is not only putting photos, graphics and texts on the tarpaulin to make it a collage but to highlight the main objective of why you are doing the collage - to link the theme with the assigned sustainable development goals. Images taken during the presentation will be available in CE315 Env Engg link on top bar of the site. |
