GROUPS 1 AND 2: EXISTING LAND-USES AND DEVELOPMENT ALONG BANGON AND BUNGOY RIVERS
1. Sketch the rivers, its adjoining lands and identify the major uses of land along the rivers. Highlight the major uses (residential, commercial, institutional, open space, agriculture, mangroves etc.) Use the land use classification standard. You can refer this to the Land-Use Map of Odiongan from the Planning Office of the Municipality. 2. Take photos and briefly describe these uses - any non-conformance from the land-use map of the municipality. Provide information of the major uses ( such as buildings and other structures). 3. Assess the impacts of these land-uses to the rivers in terms of water quality, biodiversity and overall river management. 4. All these information should be reflected (posted/pasted) in the whole illustration board. GROUP 3 AND 4: EXISTING MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURES AND FACILITIES NEAR BANGON AND BUNGOY RIVERS 1. Sketch the rivers and adjoining lands and identify the existing infrastructures present in the 0.5 km radius from the rivers. These infrastructures are not only limited to water supply, electricity/power, roads, river protection walls, soil erosion walls, drainage canals, bridges. irrigation system, berthing areas, etc. 2. Take photos and provide brief description of these infrastructures in terms of current conditions, and other relevant information about these infrastructures. 3. Recommend additional infrastructures to protect and improve the condition of these rivers. 4. All these information should be reflected (posted/pasted) in the whole illustration board. GROUP 5 AND 6: ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS AND ISSUES ALONG BANGON AND BUNGOY RIVERS 1. Sketch these rivers and adjoining lands. Take photos that show the various environmental problems and issues currently faced by Bangon and Bungoy Rivers. These problems and issues include water pollution, air pollution (if any), solid wastes, soil erosion, wastewater/sewage/sewer, illegal structures, transport issues, encroachment of structures, flooding, squatters/slum dwellers, etc. 2. Identify proposed projects and activities to solve these environmental problems and issues. 3. All these information should be reflected (posted/pasted) in the whole illustration board. REMINDERS: Each group will submit separate output. Be creative in doing this final group work. Substantial information reflected in the illustration board will provide better appreciation of the rivers and the potential environmental problems/issues currently faced by these rivers. Submit the illustration board on or before 23 October 1PM, together with your group payments for the photocopies.
