CE5226 Laws/Ethics: Progress Report on the Final Groupwork Assignment, due on 19 February 20181/31/2018 It is expected that every group has already downloaded the guidelines and report template for the final group assignment. Please take note of the schedule of report submission and oral presentation. On the other hand, the progress report should be handed over on 19 Feb 2018 (Monday), instead of 05 Feb as previously reflected in the guideline to provide additional time for your group to prepare the prelimnary reports.
All the necessary reading materials (Feasibility Studies report) for the two projects are ready for download. Please read and understand the contents of the reports to have a full comprehension in the conduct of FS and its report preparation.

29 January is the submission of the final print of your group's company profile. Unfortunately, no group bothered to handover the assignment. Ok, the submission will be extended until 05 Feb (Monday, before the class starts) but you will get points deduction. Please make sure that the instructions are strictly followed, otherwise I will not accept the document for revision. As a final copy, the profile is printed in a high quality paper and properly binded (NOT THE SLIDING FOLDER). As a required reading, please read RA9184 - Government Procurement Reform Act of the PICE Manual or you can get a separate online copy thru PhilGEPS (Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System) or GPPB (Government Procurement Policy Board) websites. I also uploaded the file for easy access in the subject link. A SHORT QUIZ will be given on Monday, 05 February to check if you have read some ofthe provisions of RA9184, particularly RULES V and VI of the IRR (Implementing Rules and Regulations). Classes resume on Friday (26 Jan), Saturday (27 Jan) (Graduate Studies) and Monday (29 January)1/24/2018 There will be classes on the 26th Jan (Friday), Sat (27 Jan) for Graduate Studies, and Monday (29 Jan). For undergraduates, expect a SHORT TEST/QUIZ or SEATWORK during the class. Please read the required reference materials as mentioned in the previous classes. Guidelines for Assignment #4 is already posted in the subject link (ES200 RES). Make sure you that you have copies of the required pages from our main reference book, Research Methods and Thesis Writing (2nd Edition) by Paler-Calmorin and Calmorin (2007).
Due date: 03 February 2018. In addition, required readings for 27 January meet-up are as follows: Chapters 4, 5, 6 and 7. If you have not submitted your topics as well as copy of the main reference journal article, please submit this coming Saturday, 27 January, otherwise your topics will not be approved on time, thus it will affect the continuity of your review of literature. Instruction for Assignment #4 is already posted in the subject link. This assignment is related to advertisement (WANTED ad) for a civil engineering position in the Philippines. You have to cut and clip three (3) ads, then paste in your notebook. Do not forget to write down the source of the clippings. The ads should have been posted online or printed and published in the newspapers/tabloids between 2016 and 2018. NOTE: Similar submission of clippings with classmates will not get points.
Moreover, The final copy of the company profile and logo will be submitted on the 29th January 2018. The guidelines are also posted in the subject link with a "Group Work Assignment - Company Profile and Logo" heading. Hand-out #3 is a summary list of the Philippine Environmental Laws and Regulations. This compliments to your list created in your Assignment #2.
In addition, please ready for a short quiz next meeting, 24 Jan 2018 which covers the common but major laws that fall under GREEN, BLUE, and BROWN category; including the list of internatinal/national environmental events and activities celebrated worldwide. Review carefully the chapters of the Feasibility Study assigned to your group to have a full grasp of the major activities involved in the conduct of the FS as well as the contents of the FS final report. In addition, read and understand the guidelines thoroughly to have acceptable report outputs. Again, just to remind everyone that you have to read Chapters 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Rural Water Supply Volume One which are review of your Environmental Engineering subject which were briefly discussed during last week's meetings. Important topics from theses chapters will be also included in the long quiz. This is to confirm that there will be a QUIZ on Friday, 12 January 2018.
