There will be class on Wednesday, 28 Feb 2018 to discuss the final group assignment - report submission and oral presentation. Guidelines for report submission and presentation will follow.
In addition, Assignment #4 on RA9003 and RA6969 is already posted. Submission of the assignment is set on 05 March 2018 (Monday, latest 5pm). All the reference materials are also available in the website to assist you in answering the questions. All answers will be handwritten in your notebook. Copying from other students will get point deductions.
A soft reminder that the QUIZ will moved on 19th Feb 2018, and at the same time the submission of the assignment on the contents of the Invitation to Bid. You are required to submit (3) sample newspaper clippings which some of them were already given to the class during our last meeting.
If your group still needs additional clippings, you can visit my office and provide you the newspapers.
For every clipping, you have to indicate or write the information as stated in the clippings based on the following items. If the information is not available in the clippings, then just write "MISSING INFORMATION" opposite to the items:
1. A brief description of the project matter of the Procurement
2. A general statement on the criteria to be used by the Procuring Entity fo the eligibility check
3. The date, time and place of the deadline for the submission and receipt of the eligibility requirements, pre-bid conference, submission of bids and opening of bids
4. The Approved Budget for the Contract to be bid
5. The source of funds
6. The period of availability of the bidding documents and the place where these documents may be seured.
7. The contract duration
8. Other information relevant to the Bid
Submit in a short bond paper, typewritten (single space) and please indicate the group numbe and names of the members of the groups for easy reference. All clippings will be pasted properly with the caption that indicate the source and date of the clippings.
PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THAT 19TH FEB 2018 IS ALSO THE SUBMISSION OF THE PROGRESS REPORT OF THE FINAL GROUP ASSIGNMENT. NON-COMPLIANCE AND LATE SUBMISSION (SUBMISSION BEYOND THE DEADLINE) IS TEN (10) POINTS DEDUCTION PER DAY. FOR EXAMPLE: REPORT RATING IS 60 POINTS BUT THE REPORT WAS SUBMITTED TWO (2) DAYS AFTER DEADLINE (LESS 20 POINTS), THE FINAL RATING IS 60-20=40 POINTS (THIS IS A FAILING SCORE).
Handout #2 on Precipitation/Rainfall Distribution Calculation is available now, including the Assignment #3 which is due 22 February 2018. The assignment will be handwritten in your notebook and to be handed over before the class starts. Make sure that the tabulation and computation will be shown as part of problem solving. Please read the instruction carefully.
A quiz will be given on the next meeting, 23 February 2018.
Since the short quiz did not take place on 05 Feb 2018 as posted, this will be undertaken on Monday, 12 Feb 2018. This quiz will cover RA9184 particularly sections related to Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), Bid Documents and Invitation to Bid, and some salient features of GPPB and PhilGEPS. Students are encouraged to visit GPPB and PhilGEPS website.
The guideline for Assignment #5 is already available in the course link. Please carefully read the instructions to have a very good submission of the said assignment. Use short bond paper and print in colors. The best software to use is Excel, otherwise you can use other available softwares that could generate graphs.
THERE WILL BE NO CLASS THIS COMIN SATURDAY, 10 FEB, however, your assignment for Chapter 2: Review of Related Literature will be collected. Even this is the first progress submission on literature review, it is expected that you have covered intensive review of previous studies related to your proposed research project. Again, it is expected that you follow the APA citation and referencing.
